Statements against corruption should be implemented on ground: Muzaffar Shah | KNO

Srinagar, July 23 (KNO) : Awami National Conference (ANC) senior Vice president, Muzaffar Shah Tuesday said that the statement made by Governor Satya Pal Malik regarding the eradication of corruption was a welcome step.

In a statement issued to KNO, Shah said that the statements should not remain confined to the papers only but should be implemented in letter and spirit on the ground.

He further stated that the properties of political leaders and bureaucrats from 1947 should be ascertained and the commencing of such a process should be started from his grandfather Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah and his father G M Shah. Shah also condemned the statement made by Governor, asking militants to kill those involved in the corruption. He said that Governor Malik will be held responsible if any untoward incident takes place.

Meanwhile, Shah reacted to the development following the US president Donald Trump’s statement wherein he stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked him to mediate on Kashmir issue. He said that whether PM Modi has asked him to mediate or not but the things are visible that steps are being taken for the resolution of Kashmir issue.(KNO)
